Happy Saturday, Armin Jahr families!

What a wonderful first week back with our 1st–5th grade Orcas! Our Interim Campus finally became a SCHOOL! Classrooms buzzed with energy as students reconnected with friends, met new teachers, and began building routines in our new space.

I want to thank you for your patience and grace as we continue to fine-tune our dismissal process and work out some of the kinks that come with adjusting to a new campus, like finding the smoothest transition to lunch and even finding which bathroom is the closest! Yesterday we shifted to indoor afternoon recess due to changing air quality and it was another great example of our students’ and staff’s flexibility and positivity.

And THANK YOU for the kind words and affirmations we have received this past week! It is a transition for us all and I am so thankful for this strong Orca Learing Community we have built!

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to welcome our newest and youngest learners- Kindergartners! on Monday. We can’t wait to see their smiles and help them begin their journey at Armin Jahr!

¡Feliz sábado, familias de Armin Jahr!

¡Qué maravillosa primera semana tuvimos con nuestros Orcas de 1º a 5º grado! ¡Nuestro Campus Interino finalmente se convirtió en una ESCUELA! Las aulas estuvieron llenas de energía mientras los estudiantes se reencontraban con amigos, conocían a sus nuevos maestros y comenzaban a formar rutinas en nuestro nuevo espacio.

Quiero darles las gracias por su paciencia y comprensión mientras seguimos ajustando nuestro proceso de salida y resolviendo algunos detalles que vienen con adaptarnos a un nuevo campus, como encontrar la mejor manera de ir al almuerzo ¡y hasta descubrir cuál baño queda más cerca! Ayer tuvimos que cambiar a recreo bajo techo en la tarde por la calidad del aire, y fue otro gran ejemplo de la flexibilidad y la actitud positiva de nuestros estudiantes y personal.

Y ¡GRACIAS! por las palabras amables y afirmaciones que hemos recibido esta semana. Es una transición para todos, y estoy muy agradecido por esta fuerte Comunidad de Aprendizaje Orca que hemos construido.

Mirando hacia adelante, estamos muy emocionados de dar la bienvenida el lunes a nuestros estudiantes más pequeños y nuevos — ¡los de Kindergarten! No podemos esperar para ver sus sonrisas y ayudarlos a comenzar su camino en Armin Jahr.

¡Será un año maravilloso juntos!

• Please continue to use Cherry Ave to 30th St to access the Armin Jahr campus for pick-up.

• No pick-up or drop-off is allowed at the back of campus (near the Boys & Girls Club). This area is for buses only.

• Parents will be greeted in the car line by an AJ staff member, who will notify the teacher when your child is ready for release.

• Pull all the way forward into the campus parking lot to help keep traffic moving smoothly.

• There will be a designated Parent Walk-Up Check-In area.

• Remember: All AJ students in our attendance area have access to bussing this year.

  • A new Y Bus Route was added for the Armin Jahr walk-zone.

  • You can find your bus stop HERE

• Por favor sigan usando Cherry Ave hacia 30th St para entrar al campus de Armin Jahr para la recogida.

• No se permite recoger ni dejar estudiantes en la parte de atrás del campus (cerca del Boys & Girls Club). Esta área es solo para los autobuses escolares.

Use the link above to see the bus route schedule for Armin Jahr. A new, temporary route (Route Y) has been added to transport students from the Armin Jahr walk zone in order to bring students to the interim campus. This route will run throughout the duration of the reconstruction project starting in Fall 2025.

Thank you to our volunteers from our Parent-Teacher Association who volunteered at Back to School Night and helped this week, getting water to classrooms, welcoming students, and jumping in at dismissal.

Our PTA is a growing community of parents and family members of AJ students who are helping to host events, activities, and be a positive presence in our school.
