Happy Saturday, Orca Learning Community!

Our students are settling into routines and doing a wonderful job in their new classrooms! While we are still practicing expectations around campus, teachers and staff are working hard to build strong communities both in class and across our school.

This week we held our first Orca Family Friday Assembly in the gym. Students came together as a whole school to build community, celebrate learning, and recognize classes modeling expectations with our Golden Awards. Students also received their grade-level shirts—if your child didn’t bring one home yet, teachers have them ready.

Looking ahead this week, our students  will continue learning about our character trait of the month, respect.

We will also be celebrating the groundbreaking (or beginning of construction) on our Dibb Campus! 

This Friday, September 26, students are invited to wear clothing that represents their culture and heritage in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.

This Friday will also be our first Popcorn Friday, hosted by the PTO! Students can buy fresh popcorn for 50¢ a bag (limit 2 bags).

¡Feliz sábado, Comunidad de Aprendizaje Orca!

Nuestros estudiantes se están acostumbrando a las rutinas y están haciendo un trabajo maravilloso en sus nuevas aulas. Aunque todavía seguimos practicando las expectativas en el campus, los maestros y el personal están trabajando arduamente para construir comunidades fuertes tanto en las clases como en toda nuestra escuela.

Esta semana tuvimos nuestra primera Asamblea Familiar Orca de los viernes en el gimnasio. Los estudiantes se reunieron como una sola escuela para crear comunidad, celebrar el aprendizaje y reconocer a las clases que modelan las expectativas con nuestros Premios Dorados. Los estudiantes también recibieron sus camisetas por nivel de grado. Si su hijo(a) todavía no la llevó a casa, los maestros las tienen listas en el salón.

Mirando hacia esta semana, nuestros estudiantes continuarán aprendiendo sobre nuestro rasgo de carácter del mes: el respeto.

¡También estaremos celebrando la colocación de la primera piedra (el inicio de la construcción) en nuestro Campus Dibb!

Este viernes, 26 de septiembre, invitamos a todos los estudiantes a usar ropa que represente su cultura y herencia en reconocimiento del Mes de la Herencia Hispana.

¡Este viernes también será nuestro primer Viernes de Palomitas, organizado por el PTO! Los estudiantes podrán comprar una bolsa de palomitas recién hechas por 50¢ (máximo 2 bolsas por niño).

We’re finding our groove in our new space, and students are doing a fantastic job starting the day! Each morning, they bring their breakfast into class and begin with community-building activities that set a positive tone for learning. You can support this smooth transition by saying your goodbyes before students enter the gate. This simple step helps create consistency and routine, allowing students to start their day feeling confident and ready to learn.
