Orca Update - September 27, 2025

Good morning Orca Learning Community!

What a week it has been at Armin Jahr! On Monday, we celebrated an exciting milestone with the groundbreaking of our new building. Meanwhile, learning in classrooms is going strong. Students are engaged in academics and practicing what it looks like to treat others kindly and responsibly as part of our focus on Respect this month,. Part of this has included learning to navigate conflicts with our “Time Machine,” a routine that helps students reflect on actions, repair harm, and move forward together.

We ended the week with guest speakers in our Orca Family Friday Assembly and our Heritage Dress Day; students and staff dressed in clothing that represented their culture and heritage! And it was our first Popcorn Friday of the year, thank you PTO volunteers to ending the week with a delicious treat!

Finally, a reminder that Picture Day is Tuesday, October 7. Ordering packets have been sent home, so please check your child’s backpack for information and return forms by Picture Day.

Our PTO is also working on coordinating our Trunk or Treat for Friday, October 24th. They are still looking for candy donations and trunk sign-ups. See more information below!

Thank you for your continued support and partnershi, it’s an exciting time to be an Orca!

School Arrival in the Morning

We’re finding our groove in our new space, and students are doing a fantastic job starting the day! Each morning, they bring their breakfast into class and begin with community-building activities that set a positive tone for learning. You can support this smooth transition by saying your goodbyes before students enter the gate. This simple step helps create consistency and routine, allowing students to start their day feeling confident and ready to learn.
