Happy Saturday, Orca Learning Community!

I hope you all had a restful and joy-filled Thanksgiving! Whether you celebrate with friends, extended family, extra time in pajamas, or getting work done, I hope you enjoyed time with those you love! I want to share how thankful I am for our entire Orca Learning Community- our students who show up everyday and bring joy, our staff who continue to pour heart and energy into their work, and our families for their ongoing support and dedication to building partnerhips with us. I could not do this work without you!

Thursday evening we will be hosting our SEL Resource Fair here on campus. Families will have the opportunity to explore tools, community supports, and strategies for social-emotional learning and well-being. We hope you’ll join us!

¡Feliz sábado, Comunidad de Aprendizaje Orca!

Espero que todos hayan tenido un Día de Acción de Gracias lleno de descanso y alegría. Ya sea que hayan celebrado con amigos, familia extendida, más tiempo en pijamas o poniéndose al día con tareas, ¡espero que hayan disfrutado tiempo con las personas que aman! Quiero compartir lo agradecida que estoy por toda nuestra Comunidad de Aprendizaje Orca: nuestros estudiantes, que llegan cada día y llenan nuestra escuela de alegría; nuestro personal, que sigue poniendo corazón y energía en su trabajo; y nuestras familias, por su apoyo constante y su dedicación a construir asociaciones con nosotros. ¡No podría hacer este trabajo sin ustedes!

El jueves por la tarde tendremos nuestra Feria de Recursos de SEL aquí en el campus. Las familias tendrán la oportunidad de explorar herramientas, apoyos de la comunidad y estrategias para el aprendizaje socioemocional y el bienestar. ¡Esperamos verlos allí!

Throughout this month, classrooms highlighted our character trait: Gratitude. Students learned the definition (including Kindergartners learning to sign it!) and discussed,drew, and wrote about the things they are thankful for. In the library, Ms. Kelly invited students to list the things they were thankful for on paper and add it as a link in a growing paper chain!

Por favor, recuerden avanzar lo más posible en nuestro estacionamiento al dejar o recoger a los estudiantes en la Línea de Padres. Estamos tratando de que los autos pasen lo más rápido posible (¡mientras mantenemos a los niños seguros!) y avanzar tanto como sea posible nos ayuda a lograr esto.

We are excited to announce that our AJ Choir has been asked to perform at the December School Board meeting. We will be singing at 5pm on Thursday, December 11 at the district office (134 Marion Ave N.). Students will need to arrive around 4:45pm so that we can get organized and sing a quick warm up. You will also need to get your child to and from the performance. We should be singing close to the start of the meeting, and we are only performing two songs, so I don't anticipate it lasting very long. It is exciting to have this opportunity and to show off the hard work that our talented singers have been putting in. Please add the date to your calendars. I hope to see you all there!

Estamos emocionadas de anunciar que nuestro Coro AJ ha sido invitado a presentarse en la reunión de la Junta Escolar de diciembre. Cantaremos a las 5:00 p.m. el jueves 11 de diciembre en la oficina del distrito (134 Marion Ave N.). Los estudiantes deberán llegar alrededor de las 4:45 p.m. para que podamos organizarnos y hacer un rápido calentamiento. También será necesario que lleven a su hijo al evento y lo recojan después. Deberíamos cantar cerca del inicio de la reunión, y solo vamos a interpretar dos canciones, por lo que no espero que dure mucho tiempo. Es muy emocionante tener esta oportunidad y poder mostrar el arduo trabajo que nuestros talentosos cantantes han estado realizando. Por favor, agreguen la fecha a sus calendarios. ¡Espero verlos a todos allí!
