Good morning, Orca Learning Community!
What an incredible week we had celebrating College & Career Week! Throughout the week, students engaged in meaningful and fun activities designed to help them begin thinking about their futures and the many possibilities ahead.
One of the highlights was our visit from West Sound Technical Skills Center. Students explored a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, including construction, criminal justice, aesthetics, cosmetology, collision repair and automotive, and medical careers. These interactive stations gave all of our orcas a glimpse into real-world skills and future opportunities.
In classrooms, students also spent time thinking about their future selves. Mrs. Walston taught lessons around the different “hats” students might wear in their future careers, and students created headbands to represent a career they are excited about.
We ended the week with Orca Time. It was the perfect way to wrap up such a meaningful experience!

¡Buenos días, Comunidad de Aprendizaje Orca!
¡Qué semana tan increíble tuvimos celebrando la Semana de la Universidad y las Carreras! A lo largo de la semana, los estudiantes participaron en actividades significativas y divertidas diseñadas para ayudarles a comenzar a pensar en su futuro y en las muchas posibilidades que tienen por delante.
Uno de los momentos destacados fue nuestra visita del West Sound Technical Skills Center. Los estudiantes exploraron una variedad de trayectorias de Educación Técnica y Profesional (CTE), incluyendo construcción, justicia criminal, estética, cosmetología, reparación de colisiones y automotriz, y carreras médicas. Estas estaciones interactivas les dieron a todos nuestros Orcas una visión de habilidades del mundo real y oportunidades futuras.
En los salones de clase, los estudiantes también dedicaron tiempo a pensar en su futuro. La Sra. Walston enseñó lecciones sobre los diferentes “sombreros” que los estudiantes podrían usar en sus futuras carreras, y los estudiantes crearon bandas para la cabeza para representar una carrera que les entusiasma.
Terminamos la semana con Orca Time. ¡Fue la manera perfecta de cerrar una experiencia tan significativa!
