Good morning and Happy Saturday, Armin Jahr families!

What a fantastic first week of school! Classrooms were filled with smiles and community-building as students settled into new routines and connected with their classmates and teachers. Friends played together on the playground, and hugs were given across campus as students reunited with familiar faces.

On Thursday and Friday, we welcomed our kindergarten students for their first days, making our Orca community complete!

Thank you to our parents and families for your patience, support, and partnership as we begin this new school year. If you have any questions or need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our front office. We are always happy to help!

¡Qué fantástica primera semana de clases! Los salones se llenaron de sonrisas y actividades para fortalecer la comunidad mientras los estudiantes se adaptaban a nuevas rutinas y conectaban con sus compañeros y maestros. Los amigos jugaron juntos en el patio y hubo abrazos por todo el campus cuando los estudiantes se reencontraron con caras conocidas.

El jueves y el viernes, dimos la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes de kínder en sus primeros días, ¡completando así nuestra comunidad de Orcas!

A couple reminders for drop-off and pick-up:

• Student drop-oof begins at 8:55. Please do not drop studens off at school prior to 8:55.
• Please turn on Cherry Ave to get to E 30th for drop-off/pick-up. The cross-traffic on Spruce Ave makes it dangerous for pedestrians crossing from the parking lot.

Thank you for your grace and patience as we navigate beginning-of-year arrival and dismissal traffic and improving our systems!

If your student came home without their sweatshirt or lunch box, we probably have it in our Lost and Found! Ask your student to check during their recess (it's right outside the gym) or stop by the office for help!

Bremerton School District is committed to supporting every student's social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. SEL screening provides school staff with valuable information about how students are feeling, interacting with others, and engaging at school.

The results help schools better understand student needs at both the individual and school-wide levels. This information is used to create supportive learning environments, identify students who may benefit from additional support, and guide school-wide planning to help all students succeed.

Families who do not want their child to participate in the SEL screening may opt out by contacting their child's homeroom teacher or school counselor before September 7, 2026. The teacher or counselor will explain the opt-out process and ensure the student is not included in the screening.

El Distrito Escolar de Bremerton está comprometido con apoyar el bienestar social, emocional y conductual de cada estudiante. La evaluación socioemocional (SEL) proporciona al personal escolar información valiosa sobre cómo se sienten los estudiantes, cómo interactúan con los demás y cómo participan en la escuela.

Los resultados ayudan a las escuelas a comprender mejor las necesidades de los estudiantes, tanto a nivel individual como escolar. • 🍿Popcorn Fridays – Families can sign up for our annual popcorn membership. Our first Popcorn Friday is September 25th! 
• Get Involved at Armin Jahr – For parents and family members who are interested in helping with PTO, school events, Popcorn Fridays, or getting involved in other ways. (This is for teachers and anyone really, we want to grow!:)

• Our first PTO meeting of the school year next Wednesday September 9th

Parent Square is our communication tool that enables two-way communicationg between the school, teacher, and parent. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

Parents will receive an invitation email or text in August to join ParentSquare. Parents who don't want to wait can visit ParentSquare.com and log-in with their email that is on-file with the district (used in Skyward) to activate their account.

If you don't receive an invitation and would like one, please email Communications@BremertonSchools.org and include your name, student name(s) and schools with which you are affiliated.

ParentSquare can be used on any device. Parents are encouraged to download the free mobile app for iOS or Android or use the desktop version at the ParentSquare website. Signing up takes less than a minute!

SkywardQ is Bremerton School District’s student information system and an important tool for families to stay connected to their child’s school information. Families can use SkywardQ to view attendance, schedules, grades and missing assignments, contact information, and student health records, all in one place. We encourage every family to have at least one SkywardQ account, especially as the District continues moving more forms and family processes online. SkywardQ is available online and through a mobile app, making it easy to access information from your phone.

This summer, the District is transitioning to the new and improved SkywardQ; family access is expected to reopen August 24. Current users will keep the same username and password, but app users will need to delete the old Skyward app and download the new one. Need an account or help logging in?
