About Armin Jahr Elementary

Celebrating Diversity in the the heart of East Bremerton: Armin Jahr Elementary

Armin Jahr Elementary: Home of the Orcas!

We take pride in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, and are proud to be the home of the district's Dual Immersion program.

In February of 2024, Bremerton School District voters approved a 25-year bond that will fund the replacement of our aging school building!

Mission

At Armin Jahr our fundamental purpose is to ensure a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment where all students will master the academic and social skills necessary to thrive as global citizens.

Vision

As a Professional Learning Community we commit to intentional collaboration, clearly defined expectations, effective communication and interventions that are supported with resources and people.

Fun fact

The name of the school honors a man who died only four months before it first opened to students. Armin Jahr served as the first president of Olympic College and spent 22 years (1946-1968) as Bremerton's superintendent. Jahr was only a couple months shy of retirement when he died on May 11, 1968 at the age of 64.
